This Roman-era bronze saw is clearly intended for surgical use. its shape has been preserved to this day, and this shape is still in use for skull sectioning. The workmanship is truly of great finesse with decorative silver inserts that makes us understand it was in the set of a great and famous Roman surgeon. at the moment there are no surgical saws of this era (2000 years or more) in the world public collections. it is a real museum specimen. very good condition with a beautiful green patina.
